About Us

Red Bird is a nature and art based Preschool, licensed and insured in Shutesbury, MA.  We believe in hands-on learning where each child is valued as an unique learner.

HenaSusha Schiffman, Owner and Preschool Teacher, has worked with children for 30 years in diverse settings: urban, Head Start, public schools, and education centers. Nikki Collari, Certified Assistant, has worked as a Child Care Teacher and a Nanny for over 8 years. She’s been working at Red Bird since 2020. Simone Greenberg, Certified Assistant, has worked with children for many years, and began at Red Bird in 2022.

Red Bird Preschool’s philosophy is learning is natural, and fun. The curriculum is a creative blend of Play and Nature-Based, Nurtured Heart, Reggio-Emilia, Waldorf, and Montessori approaches.
